FIX BBS

ay| 1998/10/23 01:40

I spend quite some time at the BBS called FIX. I suggest you try it out. It’s a nice/better alternative to IRC.
If you have windows you could use the inbuilt telnet client (press the start button and klick “run program” write “telnet fix.no”, but you would rather use a decent telnet-client supporting colours etc. like CRT which you can get from vandyke productions.
We try to keep our grammer and spelling correct at this BBS. Write proper english, use capital letters where they are supposes to be and so on. No IRC-languane. Read this.
FIX is also much more than a chatroom. It also has confernces and email. Check it out. Here are instructions on how to connect to FIX.
Enjoy yourself and meet me there.

Easter Sausage

ay| 01:20

Life is hard on a nerd sometimes.
Fortunaly I have a quite a bunch of friends to cheer me up. I’ll round them up for a party this weekend I think. Otherwise I’ll attend to the famous “easter-sausage”-party (HØSTPØLSE) at the univesity. I’ll get to use my black suit, wine and dine beautifull women (?) and drink lots of alchol. Yummy.

My Mini Trashed

ay| 1998/10/12 01:44

This Is _not_ my not my day, not even my week.
Woke up with a anoying headache after too much Baileyes together with James last night. I strained my neck trying to get out of bed. Crawled over to James and checked my email. A friend of mine, Maja, had sent me a mail sugesting that I went out to the parkinglot and took a closer look at Morris.
Went out and found Morris, raped and molested.
Someone has tried to break into him, unsuccessfully. Then they destroyed the doors and bashed two windows and tried to start him, unsuccessfully. Then they stole the stereoequipment (Boston accustics loudspeakers, Sony car-minidisc-player and a Sony 10-CDchanger) ripped out all the interior. Stole parts of the engine and the battery. All this during Saturday night on the parkinglot of Fjellbirkland Studentby. It’s impossible to do that without being seen by students comming home from town etc.
Please, if you have seen or heard anything about this. Contact me ASAP.
None of the other cars in the parkinglot was touched, so this has to be a ordered operation. Someone wanted this car. Pity they didn’t manage to start it. Not even break into it without climbing in the windows. =) A very unprofesional job, done by unprofesional people.

Some day I may have the money to rebuild Morris…

James Hacked

ay| 1998/10/09 07:57

Somebody hacked into James two days ago.
I don’t know exactly what he/she/they did, but all my logfiles were removed. I can’t find any other traces of them, exept that James, seems to act strangely in some situations after this. I may have to reinstall parts of my system. So expect some downtime in the near future.
All of this because a 16 year old brat wanted to test out exploits he found on Rootshell. Anyone could have done that. Especially since I forgot to turn off the imap-deamon from the last time i installed redhat 5.1 *blush*. Anyone could have done it. James was wide open (and embaressed).

I’ve downloaded the best fonts from the Fontmania site, renamed them to more unix-friendly names and made a tar.gz package of them. Get it HERE
